How do I choose a SEO company or vendor to work with?

I found your company on Google this morning for the search word SEO COMPANY. That is great that you are on page 1 but there are many other companies on page 1 for many other keywords like SEO or SEO SERVICE. What advice can you give me besides "pick my company"? Seriously, there are thousands of SEO people claiming to know magic.

Answer

SEO Company, Qualified Impressions replies...

This is common sense, more or less.

ALL consumers look for is:

1) Pricing
2) Proof
3) How it works

That's it. . . and normally in that exact order.

My recommendation is to perform keyword searches related to "SEO COMPANY", maybe even use a prefix/suffix location to find someone locally, if that is what you are looking to do.

Then:

1) Ask them how their service works.
2) Ask them for proof and examples.
3) Ask them for references.
4) Google their business name. Look for "scams", "complaints", testimonials, PR, etc...

That should be more than enough. Use your instincts too. If someone really sounds like they know their stuff, they probably do. If they have testimonials that appear legitimate, they probably are. If their company website ranks well, that's at LEAST an indication that they know something. Take all of that information, compare pricing to offerings and try someone out.

Avoid getting into yearly contracts up-front until you have at least tested the service out. Any company that forces you into a year contract right off the bat is probably focused on revenue, not results.

Have something to say?
