Jill Whelan (an industry expert) suggests that you should write articles, whitepapers and content that people will "naturally" want to link to, thereby producing high quality natural links. I somewhat disagree. If it was that easy, EVERYONE would be doing it.
Without getting into Qi specific proprietary strategy, I suggest you pick a target and send out lots of emails, make lots of phone calls and pay lots of $$ to obtain the links you may need to get to Page One of Google for competitive keyword phrases. Test out new ideas. Contact webmasters and test, test, test. Refine your strategy till your spending as little time as possible building as many relevant links as possible.
