Does it hurt to work with two SEO companies at once?

I was solicited by two seo companies. They are both in the same ballpark price range and claim to do the same thing. Would it hurt to try them both out?

Look at it this way. . . that means you are spending twice as much and have twice as much to track.

How will you REALLY know which SEO Company is the most effective?

Hiring two companies may not be the most efficient way to approach your seo compaign. I recommend you ask them both for a few referrals. Call their clients. Also ask them for a list of results (websites & positions). Having those 2 critical questions answered, you should be comfortable sticking with the one that has proven to be more effective.

Don't buy just on price.

Also, having two seo companies perform SEO activities at one time may put up some red flags with Google. Too many links, the wrong type of links, etc... may get you penalized. Be careful.
